Modern History EDITOR

RegattoQuotationMarks.png

I am a PhD student in the History Department at Lancaster University. My PhD research looks at Britain at the turn of the millennium through Chris Morris’s satire and the responses it provoked.

My MA research focused on nostalgia for communism in the former German Democratic Republic, explored through material culture, place and film. I have written for EPOCH on Brett Easton Ellis’ use of the physical geography of Manhattan in American Psychoattitudes to crime and punishment in ‘90s Britain, and reviews of All Quiet on the Western Front and Oppenheimer.

I have been the Modern Editor at EPOCH since October 2022, and Coordinating Editor since January 2024. I would welcome any modern history submissions, but I am particularly interested in humour, language and the relationship between culture and politics, in Britain and beyond.
