Jude Rowley
International History EDITOR
Jude Rowley is a PhD candidate in International Relations (IR) based in the Department of Politics, Philosophy, and Religion at Lancaster University and is also a member of the Centre for War and Diplomacy. His research focuses primarily on the history of IR, especially its disciplinary historical sociology, with a view to addressing some of the historical silences that continue to shape the discipline.
He has a particular interest in unravelling IR’s historical ties to colonial race science and eugenics, along with the hidden histories of anti-colonial resistance that have influenced the development of the field in complex and emergent ways. He is also interested in wider histories of empire, international relations, political science, and the twentieth century.
He maintains an increasingly time-consuming side interest in the history of Lancaster University, which has led to a series of articles on Lancaster's murky Cold War past in EPOCH 14, 15, and 16.
